Great location, just steps away from the lakefront, parks, golf course, restaurants, shops, and public transportation. The building offers top-notch amenities, including a 24-hour door person, heated outdoor pool, expansive sundeck with cabanas, exercise room, party and theater rooms, dog run, basketball and tennis courts, and even a convenience store and dry cleaner attached to the building. The heated valet parking is also a great feature, albeit at an additional cost. Overall, Park Place Tower has everything you need for comfortable and convenient city living. Highly recommended!
I live here. I love my building: it's well run, clean, and filled with 55 floors of largely very pleasant people. One of its marvels is how well-behaved people's dogs are. Dog friendly, this building includes a well-maintained astroturf dog run, "Bark Place." Other amenities: the lobby (won an award of some kind) with comfy furniture and an out-of-tune grand piano, an oddly run laundry room, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, a theater room, a gym, and -- soon to come! -- a pool table. I did up my place, which I chose for its lake and city views and well-designed breakfast bar, with a floor-to-ceiling rehab including engineered wood floors, baseboards and trim, electrical (Sims & Sons), bathroom and kitchen upgrade including new appliances, fixtures, and tile, and repaint, and solar shades (Gotcha Covered). I'm accustomed to East Coast prices, even with all the rehab the total money spent seemed like a bargain. But the best feature of this building is its people: the staff and residents, owners and tenants alike, are good Chicago Midwest people, and some people from further reaches as well. Everybody gets along, and the building functions very well: it's in its DNA.
Good place to live. It's an older building, and it has it's maintenance quirks, but the staff is good and keeps everyone informed. Laundromat in the basement, quick mart on the main level, great door staff and a nice garage. Overall great location and a place I like to call home. 👍 …
Staff is very helpful. Maintenance responds right away. It's a big building so of course there are construction and repairs, but they do a great job of communicating the timelines and keeping up all 56 floors. It's still a community here.
I lived here from 1999-2003..I had no issues... 6th floor facing north. It was extremely quiet, never heard my neighbors. Would be interested to see what updating they have done in the 20 years. New kitchens I am sure... I had a friend who lived on one of the upper floors facing South and West and the views was amazing.. Used to watch the storms roll in from miles away
Lived here for 2 years now. They have a strong amenities game and the pool is nice. On the other hand, if you have a dog, not so nice. If you’ve got a pup, they’ll treat you like an ex-con on parole: service elevator only, back and side door only (no west or north entrance), and no dogs in the front lobby ever. I’ve had multiple instances of being chased down the hallway by a manager or doorman that was mad about the dog being in the lobby elevators.
If you’ve got no dog and the high-rise is your vibe, this is a great place.
If you’ve got a pup maybe check out a different building.
The laundry situation at this place is ridiculous. It's cost $3.50-$5.00 just for a wash cycle and the machines are old and leaking onto the floor. Then rubber gasket in one machine was so old and warped that the machine stopped mid cycle and required me to pay another $4.50 to wash my small amount of clothing.
Just moved here for two months, great location if you do not drive-there are plenty of buses and near Sheridan redline. Great amenities
